President Vladimir Zelensky He stated that the occupation forces of the Russian Federation are targeting Ukraine’s positions in the Donbass, despite the agreements reached on a ceasefire.
He spoke about this during a telephone conversation with the President-in-Office of the OSCE, Prime Minister of Albania, Eddy Rama.
«Yesterday, literally during my phone conversation with Chancellor Angela Merkel, militants opened fire on Ukrainian positions near the village of Shumy, in the area where the meeting of representatives of the JCCC and the OSCE was to take place. And the difference between these attacks and the previous ones was that they were directed ”, emphasized the head of state.
In turn, Rama noted that he supports the efforts of the Ukrainian side aimed at ending hostilities and expressed regret at the lack of desire for peace on the part of the Russian Federation.
As a reminder, on September 9, at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, the participants in the consultations agreed to a joint inspection in the Shumy settlement area with the participation of representatives of the OSCE and the Russian occupation forces.
This decision provoked a strong outcry in Ukrainian society.
However, an hour before the scheduled start of the inspection, the Ukrainian media reported that it had failed.
The Ukrainian authorities explained this by the fact that the occupation forces of the Russian Federation began to demand to expand the list of objects under study, despite the fact that the participants in the consultations within the framework of the TCG did not agree with this. .
