Zelensky ordered the Cabinet of Ministers to initiate a pilot project on the simplified registration of residence permits for IT professionals from Belarus
It is planned to provide for the possibility of reducing the period for obtaining a residence permit to three days without the need for additional travel outside Ukraine.
Belarusian entrepreneurs and highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology will be able to obtain a residence permit in Ukraine through a simplified procedure. The corresponding decree, signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was announced by his office on Sunday, October 4.
The decree states that the Cabinet of Ministers should initiate a pilot project on the simplified registration of residence permits for these categories of citizens of Belarus, as well as their relatives.
It is planned to provide for the possibility of reducing the period for obtaining a residence permit to three days without the need for additional travel outside Ukraine.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers should optimize the procedure for issuing work permits for foreigners, for the employment of Belarusian citizens who are highly qualified IT specialists.
To do this, it is proposed to reduce the period for granting said permission to 5 days and to provide for the possibility of obtaining it by default.
The Cabinet of Ministers must also ensure the smooth operation of a single information portal and hotlines to provide consultations to Belarusian citizens immigrating to Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky said that hundreds of IT specialists from Belarus want to work in Ukraine. Zelensky promised that Ukraine will always support the IT industry and assured that there will be no taxes above 5%.
