The new Yakhroma radar station will be located in Sevastopol, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
In 2021, the Russian army will start building a Yakhroma radar station in the annexed Crimea. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said this, Interfax reports Monday, December 21.
“To begin work on the construction of the Yakhroma radar station in Sevastopol and individual over-the-horizon aerial target detection units in Kaliningrad and Zeya (Amur Region – ed.),” Shoigu said at the expanded board of the military department , talking about projects for 2021.
The minister did not provide other details of these systems.
Shoigu also said that it is planned to complete the construction of an operational highly available radar station in Vorkuta and put it into experimental combat service.
