Ukrainian mentor Roman Grigorchuk, who the other day , reported on his appointment and relationship with the team.
– Roman Iosifovich, congratulations on your appointment! How were the negotiations, how long did you think about the proposal?
– It all happened very quickly. In a day and a half, the decision was already made. I spoke with the club’s management, there are ambitions, people have already done a lot for football, infrastructure, conditions. There are also big plans for the future. Management wants to achieve high results. I saw a lot of interest in my services, so we quickly agreed everything and I’m here. I’ve only been at the club for three days, but it seems like a lot longer. Already immersed in work.
– During the negotiations, did you discuss the issue of reinforcement for European competitions?
– While there is no need to guess, now all our efforts, thoughts and actions are directed towards trying to win the championship. This is the main objective. We need to achieve this and then we will think about what steps to take for further development.
– Did you get to meet the team? How many players did you know before?
– I watched the game of many soccer players, but had never worked with any of them before. Sports director Alexander Rekhviashvili works here. When I was a footballer, he played for me at Ventspils and was an important figure in my team. So it’s a pleasure to see you again and work on a new role.
