Wildberries sold scandalous t-shirts in Ukraine
The Russian online trading platform Wildberries was at the center of a scandal on the first day of its entry into the Ukrainian market.
This online store (by the way, the largest in the Russian Federation) was attacked by “patriots” who noticed that the list of products that Ukrainians can now order included clothes with portraits of Vladimir Putin, Joseph Stalin, the words ” Greater Russia “,” Educated people “,” For the airborne forces “.
After social media users realized this, the merchandise disappeared from the Ukrainian version of the Wildberries website, although there is still some left.
We find out what happened and what the Russian reseller is famous for.
What happened
The outrageous sweatshirts and t-shirts were discovered by those generally referred to as “dust robots” and the “Soros” support group.
“A pleasure that is even baked in the ass. The media reported that the Russian online clothing store Kugut, Wildberries, was finally launched for Ukraine.
We did not know where to buy a shirt with Putin. Or Putin’s embroidery kit. Or maybe you want a Russian police t-shirt? And for the airborne forces? Or maybe you want a two headed chicken? And the coat of arms of the USSR? Everything is there! And the prices are in UAH! What a joy, “wrote blogger Anton Hoza.
He added that the website claims that the products are delivered in Ukraine by Novaya Pochta and Meest, and asked if they are partners of the Russian platform. He also pointed at the SBU post.
Later, Hoza added that Novaya Pochta was told there was no agreement with the store.
Hoza attached a photo of some Wildberries products to his post. For example, T-shirts with the words “Russia”, “Greater Russia” and the emblems of the Russian Federation.
At Wildberries in Ukraine, you can order t-shirts with Vladimir Putin and even an embroidery kit with a portrait of the Russian president.
Media expert Alexander Glushchenko explained how this happened. According to him, the Russians registered a trademark and bought the domain wildberries.ua from Imena.ua. And then they just filled out all the product cards from the Russian site.
In the post, he also noted the SBU, the National Security Council, Novaya Pochta, Meest, Cyberpolice and left links to product cards.
It is true that on September 22, most of the ideological colored products were removed from the Ukrainian site Wildberries.
There are no products in the search for the requests of Putin, Stalin, Russia, but there is still something.
What is this company
Wildberries is the largest online store in Russia with the largest warehouses. OZON competes with him. Wild blackberries sell clothing, shoes, food, appliances, and more, including jewelry and medicine.
The work of the site is organized according to this principle. Small, medium and large companies place their products in the online store. All of them are delivered from the regions of the Russian Federation (no delivery abroad). The man is ordering a purchase. You can pick it up at numerous collection points (they already exist even in Russian towns), or order delivery with adjustment (free of charge).
The wild berry trick is price dumping. If a customer finds on another site, for example, OZON, a product is cheaper, he can send a link using his personal account. And Wildberries for this customer is committed to reducing the cost of production to OZON.
The condition for commercial entry to Wildberries is the cheapest product price. An entrepreneur should offer his assets more profitably than anywhere else, perhaps even at first at a loss to himself. Businesses are doing this more and more, as they have the opportunity to sell their products on the largest site in the country. For the same reason, you can sometimes find very high quality and at the same time cheap stuff at Wildberries, although some bloggers began to notice that the products are too similar to the Aliexpress assortment.
The owner of the company is Tatiana Bakalchuk. She owns 99% of the company. Another 1% belongs to her husband Vladislav Bakalchuk.
The owner of the Wildberries is estimated at $ 1.1 billion. In February 2020, according to Forbes, she was recognized as the richest woman in Russia, surpassing the widow of former Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Elena Baturina. But already in April, after the fall of the ruble, the owner of Wildberries again lost the first position to Baturina.
