Why are Dynamo and Shakhtar playing at the same time?

This “coincidence” was probably noticed by many: the matches between Dynamo and Shakhtar on the fifth day of the Premier League will take place on the same day and at the same time. The Desna – Shakhtar match, as well as the Dynamo – Zorya match, will take place on October 4 at 5:00 p.m. The match with the participation of the Ukrainian champion will be broadcast on the Football TV channel, the match with the participation of the vice-champion on 2 + 2. In total, the two central matches of the round will be played at the same time.

A completely logical question arises, bordering on outrage: why? Why are our two highest rated teams playing at the same time, why are the interests of the spectators not taken into account?

In this sense, in defense not of the weakest, it could be suggested that, they say, this is how the clubs and the UPL fight for the fans in the stadiums. But the fact of the matter is that, understanding our current realities, there will be practically no such. As we know, in Kiev, football is played with empty stands, and if spectators are allowed into the Gagarin stadium in Chernigov, for obvious reasons there will be very few.

Therefore, the question is not at all about the fans of the stadium and their numbers, but about those on the “other side of the screen”. Why are they, that is, we are not given the opportunity to watch both games normally, but are thus forced to “make noise” with the TV remote control? After all, such a situation is foolish! Honestly, even in a delusional dream, it is difficult to imagine that in La Liga Real and Barcelona they can play on the same day and at the same time. After all, they understand that the interests of the fans, both in the arenas and on television, come first. Unfortunately, in this regard, we have different priorities.

To understand why this happened, let’s first briefly talk about the material. So, as a rule, the base days for tour fights are Saturday and Sunday. The base times (the so-called slots) for the matches are usually the following: 14.00, 17.00 and 19.30. The least prestigious start time (let’s call it that) of the tour matches is at 2:00 p.m. (in any case, before the start of the winter period of the football calendar). This time it’s not for our grown-ups. They usually play at 5:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Furthermore, it is indicative that recently both Dynamo and Shakhtar almost always (with rare exceptions) independently determine the day and time of the start of their home matches.

And then what we do learn about this from “knowledgeable sources.” In this case, it happened that both “juror friends” wanted to play on Sunday, October 4 and at exactly 5:00 p.m. According to the guarantees of our interlocutors, they repeatedly tried to suggest that it would be desirable to separate these two parties in time, so that everyone has the opportunity to watch the fights. And, interestingly, there really was such an opportunity. Especially on Shakhtar, whose game will be broadcast on the Football TV channel.

The fact is that on October 4 on 2 + 2 there will be only one football broadcast, only the match between Dynamo and Zorya. The start time of the game was announced in advance, so it will no longer be possible to move it down the program grid – everything there is occupied with non-football related topics. But on the Football TV channel, Shakhtar had the opportunity to postpone Desna’s match at 7.30pm. And, as far as is known, the Chernihiv club did not oppose such an initiative. We were not against this either at the UPL or on the channel itself. And Kolos and Mariupol, who will play only at 7.30 pm, could also meet halfway on this matter (that is, change the start of the broadcast schedule). But Shakhtar, for some reason, did not want to change the game time.

Therefore, the two main fights of the fifth round, and perhaps the entire first round, will take place on the same day and at the same time. And how to see them for the viewers is the fiftieth question.

Yes, you can be outraged for a long time and in a tedious way, but only to your own detriment. Unfortunately, there is nothing new here. As in a joke: the buyer, of course, is always right, but the seller has more of these rights.
