The World Health Organization (WHO) has extended the global emergency regimen for the coronavirus pandemic.

This was announced in a briefing by the WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhan Gebreisus.

“The pandemic continues to be a public health emergency.” He stated.

According to him, the conclusion that the pandemic remains a world-class emergency was made at a committee meeting attended by 18 experts and 13 consultants. The decision was adopted unanimously.

The next meeting of the WHO Coronavirus Emergency Committee will be convened within 90 days.

WHO also encourages countries around the world to continue helping countries vulnerable to the pandemic.

Previously, UNIAN reported that 11,411 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine.
