WHO expects an increase in coronavirus deaths in Europe until late autumn

The World Health Organization expects an increase in the number of deaths from coronavirus in Europe. A significant increase in mortality is expected in October-November.

This was stated by the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge, reports AFP.

“It will be even more difficult. In October, November, we will see an increase in mortality,” Kluge said.

We will remember, yesterday, that the WHO announced a new anti-record for the number of new cases of coronavirus in the world. Almost 308 thousand people fall ill a day. In total, more than 28.5 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the world. More than 917 thousand people have already died from the coronavirus.

Before that, WHO Director Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus called on the world community to prepare for a new coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the European Union approved the allocation of 6.2 billion euros to eliminate the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. Of these, more than one billion euros will go to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Note that in Ukraine during the last day, almost 2.5 thousand new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. In total, 156 797 people fell ill in the country, 3211 patients died.
