The European Union again did not add Ukraine to the revised list of countries whose citizens can enter EU member states during the coronavirus pandemic.
This is indicated in a message on the website of the Council of the EU.
In particular, as a result of the review of the gradual abolition of temporary restrictions on non-urgent travel to the EU, the list of third countries for which quarantine restrictions will be lifted has been updated. The recommendations of the Council of the EU stipulate that the list of these countries will continue to be periodically reviewed and, if necessary, updated.
Who can join the European Union?
Based on the established criteria and conditions, taking into account the epidemiological situation, as of October 22, EU member states can gradually lift restrictions on external borders for residents of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Uruguay and China, if they are in the People’s Republic of China. on the basis of reciprocity, in response, restrictions for citizens of EU member states will be lifted.
Additionally, travel restrictions may be gradually lifted for China’s Special Administrative Regions, namely Hong Kong and Macao, subject to mutual confirmation of the removal of such restrictions in those areas.
Additionally, residents of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican must be considered EU residents to visit the EU.
Ukraine once again not included in the list of countrieswhose residents can enter the EU without restrictions.
The situation with coronavir in Ukraine
In Ukraine, until the morning of October 22, 322 thousand 879 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were registered, of which 6 thousand 43 were lethal, 134 thousand 898 patients recovered. 7 thousand 53 new cases were registered per day.
