Which cities are against the weekend quarantine?
Soft
Although the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a weekend quarantine on November 11, the Rivne city government will make its own decision to impose restrictions on November 16. This was stated by the city chief Vladimir Khomko.
Thus From November 14 to 15, the weekend quarantine will not be in effect in Rivne.
Note that on November 12 in the Rivne region in the village of Belaya Krynitsa, people blocked the Kiev-Chop highway. Catering workers and businessmen protested against the imposition of the weekend quarantine.

Zhytomyr
Zhitomir Mayor Sergei Sukhomlin said the issue of the quarantine for the weekend of November 13 was removed from the executive committee’s consideration. According to the head of Zhytomyr, the closure on Saturday and Sunday will not help reduce the number of people infected with coronavirus in the city.
Personally, I have no moral right to impose additional quarantine restrictions. This issue was removed from the executive committee’s consideration today. Additional restrictions are the responsibility of people who lose the opportunity to earn and feed their families.
–Sukhomlin noticed it.
Furthermore, the mayor said that starting next week, all employees of Zhytomyr schools will be screened for IFA.
Kramatorsk
Kramatorsk Mayor Andrey Pankov said the municipal commission for the elimination of the emergency will not make a decision on the introduction of a weekend quarantine from November 14 to 15.
The restrictions imposed by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers do not take into account the significant difference between cities. They need to be reviewed. Such decisions must be made exclusively on the spot,
– stressed Pankov.
According to him, there are no crowds in Kramatorsk cafes and restaurants during the evening hours. In addition, the owners of such establishments strictly adhere to quarantine restrictions.
Pankov has already sent a corresponding letter to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
Lviv
In Lviv, the weekend quarantine will not be introduced, as there will only be working days until November 30. The mayor’s executive committee canceled Saturday and Sunday weekends for catering and gyms. That is why all establishments in Lviv will be able to function as usual. This was announced on Facebook by the mayor of the city, Andrei Sadovy.
Until November 30, on Saturdays and Sundays in the Lviv Territory working days have been declared for catering establishments, shopping and entertainment centers, cultural institutions, gyms, fitness centers and markets. This means that it is impossible to introduce the weekend quarantine in Lviv, we do not have days off. People have the right to work
– said Sadovy.
Lutsk
Lutsk’s acting mayor Grigory Pustovit appealed to Prime Minister Denis Shmygal with a request to cancel the weekend quarantine. This was reported by the press service of the City Council on Facebook.
Such a decision (introduction of weekend quarantine – channel 24) is doubtful from the point of view of improving the epidemiological situation, but will cause significant damage to the economy of the communities.
– Pustovit said in a statement.
In addition, the Lutsk City Council noted that restricting the work of establishments on weekends will increase the number of visitors during the week.

Slavyansk
Slavyansk Mayor Vadim Lyakh said city authorities will not impose restrictions on November 14 and 15. According to the politician, that decision must be made locally, because the Cabinet of Ministers supposedly does not take into account the realities of the small settlements.
The commission will not impose any restrictive measures this weekend. An appropriate commission will be created to examine flows in the market and in catering establishments. We will make the final decision next week.
– Lyakh emphasized.

Cherkasy
The mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoly Bondarenko, considers that the weekend quarantine is not appropriate for small towns. This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy City Council.
I am willing to support any government decision, but only if the city receives state support. Now we see a different situation
– Bondarenko noted.
According to him, on weekends in Cherkasy, people mainly relax in the open air. Bondarenko added that the greatest risk of infection exists in large supermarkets and not in small stores.
“Introducing the weekend quarantine is a big mistake,” Bondarenko summarized.
Subsequently, a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations was held in Cherkassy, reports the local portal 18000. Representatives of local companies attended the meeting, who asked not to introduce the weekend quarantine.
After the meeting, the commission decided to allow some of those things that the government decided to ban:
- free movement around the city,
- receive visitors in catering establishments, even on weekends,
- the mall job,
- reception of visitors in gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools,
- receive visitors at other entertainment venues,
- reception of visitors by commercial entities that carry out activities in the field of commerce and consumer services for the population,
- activities of cultural institutions,
- functioning of markets.
Mukachevo
Mukachevo City Council Chairman Andrei Baloga called the weekend’s quarantine “an imitation of the fight against coronavirus.” According to him, there will be few positive effects of such a restriction.
I urge everyone to follow the recommendations of the doctors, take care of themselves and their families. And companies must do everything possible to survive in these difficult conditions, observing all necessary working conditions,
– said the mayor of Mukachevo.
He also noted that the number of patients increased due to the fact that the government used funds from the covid fund for other purposes.
Ternopil
Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal said during a briefing that there would be no weekend quarantine in the city. According to him, he consulted with experts to make that decision.
Why won’t we introduce these restrictions? First of all, according to doctors, this will not significantly affect the reduction of infected. Such restrictions will simply destroy the city’s economy,
– Nadal pointed out.
The mayor of Ternopil added that during the weekend quarantine, most establishments will simply stop working, because weekends have almost the greatest benefit. And in the end part of Ternopil will lose its jobs and the city will lose its finances.
Truth, certain restrictions will apply in Ternopil… In particular, in transport it will be possible to carry out transport only within seated seats. And entertainment venues and restaurants must close at 10pm.
