Already from the New Year, that is, from January 2, a blockade may be introduced in Ukraine due to the difficult situation with the coronavirus. The authorities are convinced that they will definitely not stop the transport. However, the position with regard to educational institutions changes every time. Then, according to the Chief Medical Officer Viktor Lyashko, kindergartens and schools will remain closed.

What may be a strict quarantine in January – said the chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko. Assured that transport won’t stop… The ski resorts will also work so that people have a place to go to the city to rest.

What will work:

  • Hotels will be able to provide breakfast to people.
  • The churches will not be closed, but they must meet the restrictions: 1 person per 5 square meters.
  • Public transport will continue to function.

What won’t work:

  • Presumably, schools, kindergartens, gyms, restaurants and other entertainment facilities will go into quarantine.
  • At the same time, the government plans to completely ban the work of food outlets, only delivery will be allowed.

Transport

It should be noted that earlier during the shutdown there was no talk of stopping the transport, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal reported. On December 4, he assured that transportation in Ukraine will continue to operate. According to the head of government, this is not the main source of active spread of COVID-19.

As for whether transportation will work, yes, it will: airlines, rail, and city transportation are not planned to shut down even with a stricter quarantine,
– said the prime minister.

The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, Oleg Nemchinov, also declared that in case of closure, intercity and international transport links would not be stopped.

Earlier, Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy said that during the shutdown possible restrictions on public transporthowever, its complete stop is not disputed.

At the same time, the Kiev State Health Chief Medical Officer Oleg Ruban assured: if it is tough measures, everything will be closed in the capital: kindergartens, schools and the metro. At the same time, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, insists that transport in the city should still work, but subject to quarantine rules.

Borders and aviation

Closing airports and banning foreigners is inappropriate under the conditions of the introduction of a lock. After all, the coronavirus already exists within the country and such restrictions will not significantly affect the epidemiological situation, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba explained on December 4.

However, it is not yet known whether Ukraine will close its state borders, because the government will make that decision collectively.

In turn, Krykliy assured that domestic flights will not be canceled… And when it comes to international air traffic, they will take into account the situation in another country.

Education

As for educational institutions, the situation has changed here. Earlier, the authorities noted that schools and kindergartens will not be closed during the closure.… This, in particular, was reported by a member of the Rada Committee for Education, Science and Innovation, popular deputy of the “Servant of the People” Roman Grischuk.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Education recommends that schools and kindergartens go into quarantine if there are cases of COVID-19 infection in a group or class. When asked how the confinement will affect the education of students, the popular deputy recalled that higher education institutions had switched to a remote mode of operation even earlier.

Schools in Kiev

As for the Kiev schools, in particular, they are poised for a possible closure. This was stated by the director of the Department of Education and Science of the State Administration of the city of Kiev, Elena Fidanyan.

The department is considering 2 options for the work of the capital’s schools during the closure:

  • if the closure lasts until January 23, all educational institutions in Kiev will be closed;
  • If the vacation ends on January 11, the first week of training will begin remotely.

“We strongly recommend that directors of educational institutions hold festive events exclusively within the same team. We recommend not admitting parents or outside entertainers,” said Fidanyan.

The Verkhovna Rada

Even if a blockade is introduced in Ukraine, it will not be in parliament. Rada spokesman Dmitry Razumkov assured it.

Unlike anyone else, the Verkhovna Rada will definitely not go into quarantine or shutdown,
– stressed the head of parliament.

According to him, only changes can be made to the working hours of the Rada, in particular, they will be made less full and can be reduced. In addition, parliamentarians can work online in committees.
