Weekend quarantine list grows
Mayors of Ukrainian cities declare that they will not introduce quarantine restrictions over the weekend, despite the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
Mayors of Ukrainian cities refuse to strengthen the quarantine on the weekend of November 14. Following Lvov and Nikolaev, the local authorities of Odessa, Cherkassy and Slavyansk announced this.
So, according to the Telegram channel PavlovskyNews, the mayor of Cherkassy, Anatoly Bondarenko, spoke out against the weekend quarantine.
He considers the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to be wrong. “If stores are closed on weekends, long queues will be generated on weekdays and the risk of contracting Covid-19 will increase,” Bondarenko told the Telegram channel.
Also, they are not going to introduce the weekend quarantine yet, they said in Odessa. According to edition 048.ua, the orange level of epidemiological danger remains in the city. At the moment, the regional and municipal commissions of TEB and ES have not made any decisions on the introduction of the weekend quarantine.
Earlier, Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovoy said that the weekend quarantine would not be observed in the city. The mayor of Nikolaev also does not support closing the weekend.
We also wrote that the Ministry of Health said it would give the quarantine of the day off.
