The Cabinet of Ministers plans to introduce the so-called weekend quarantine in Ukraine. Health Minister Maxim Stepanov spoke about the proposed restrictions in Ukraine over the weekend.
This was discussed at today’s cabinet meeting.
The weekend quarantine will be in effect. from 00:00 hours Saturday to 00:00 hours Monday.
During this period, it will be prohibited:
- the realization of massive cultural, religious and concert events with the participation of more than 20 people;
- reception of visitors by catering establishments, but with the possibility of take away trade;
- reception of visitors in shopping centers, commercial establishments and consumer services, except shops, 60% of the surface destined to commerce.
The government also proposes to limit the activities of gyms, fitness centers and swimming pools and establish a priority schedule from 10:00 to 11:00 care for the elderly and people with disabilities in administrative service provision centers, due to their risk situation.
At the same time, institutions that provide financial services, cash collection services, postal services and medical services will continue their activities.
We will remember, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal explained that the Ukrainian economy will not withstand a new total lockdown, so the government decided to develop a weekend quarantine.
In addition, the Ministry of Health explained what the duration of the weekend quarantine will depend on.
