In Ukraine, a weekend quarantine can be introduced from next week. Provides greater restrictions on non-working days.

This was announced by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, on the air of the talk show “Right to Power”.

He noted that such measures should help to some extent to break the chains of transmission of the virus due to the limitation of communication between people.

“When we look at the situation in the country, we understand that we cannot introduce a lockdown, as they do in some countries. Not for two or three weeks. Therefore, we are forced to introduce strict quarantines on Saturday and Sunday. These days we have the grocery stores, pharmacies and transportation will work. Everything else shouldn’t work, “Stepanov said.

He also highlighted that the number of hospitalized patients with coronavirus has grown 3.5 times since the beginning of September.

“As of this morning there were 27.5 thousand citizens in hospitals. This figure is almost 3.5 times more than in early September. Now we have 52 thousand beds, we can also increase it by 20 thousand beds. In addition, we will go for the deployment of temporary hospitals. Now we are considering the city of Kiev, Odessa, Donetsk region – Kramatorsk “, – said Stepanov.

Previously, the Health Ministry said that it is not necessary to have a negative coronavirus test to close sick leave. The family doctor can close the sick leave, assessing the general condition of the patient and the duration of the illness.

Also in the morning it was reported that 9,850 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine during the last day. This is a new anti-registration.
