Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovoy believes that the government’s decision to introduce the weekend quarantine is stupid. It will “bury” small and medium-sized businesses.

He said this in a comment to RBK-Ukraine.

Sadovoy is sure that in order to introduce such restrictions, it is first necessary to build a compensation system for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs.

“We have not yet seen the final decision of the government, but so far the information indicates a lack of common sense. For example, cafes receive between 40% and 50% of the weekly income on Saturdays and Sundays. What is the compensation for them? And where do thousands of people go? If we want to be responsible, then let’s do like in Germany, France, Italy and Poland. First we give money, we compensate people for their losses and then we will talk about some restrictions, “he said. Sadovoy.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sadovaya also said that Lviv authorities will not comply with the Cabinet’s decision on a weekend shutdown. The mayor of Lviv said this during a meeting of businessmen near the building of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

“The weekend quarantine, in my opinion, is silly. We have been, we are and we will be with you, the city will not make a single unreasonable decision. We must assume all obligations: no banquets, anniversaries or weddings, but not you can talk about a complete blockade, “Sadovoy emphasized.

We recall, today the Cabinet of Ministers approved the introduction of the weekend quarantine. Already in the next weekend and for at least three weeks, the activities of cafes and restaurants (work to go) and other entertainment establishments will be limited. They will primarily operate grocery and home stores, gas stations and pharmacies.

In addition, the government is known to be considering the possibility of extending the weekend quarantine after the three weeks initially approved expire.
