The weather in Ukraine from December 21 will start to get colder. The peak of frosts with values below -14 degrees is expected on Catholic Christmas, December 25. In this case, the cold will hit mainly in the east of the country. Meteorologists from the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine released a detailed forecast for the next few days.
Reportedly December 21 at night in the east, in the Lugansk region, thermometers will show down to -7 degrees below zero. On average, in the east, -2 … -6 degrees. In other regions of our country at night it is expected between -1 … -3 degrees.
During the day, “less” is expected mainly on the left bank of Ukraine, where thermometers will show up to + 1 … -3 degrees. Slight frosts are also expected during daylight hours in the Kherson, Cherkassk, Kirovograd and Chernigov regions. In Kiev on December 21 it will be 0 … +2 degrees, in the west of the country – 0 to +5 degrees. The exception will be the Odessa and Transcarpathian regions, where heat levels are forecast to rise to +5 degrees.
On Monday, according to meteorologists, snow is also expected in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk regions, but not much precipitation is expected. In the central, northern and southern regions of the country it will be cloudy. Sunny weather with variable cloudiness is expected only in the western territories of Ukraine.

On Tuesday, December 22th, the frosts will intensify both at night and during the day. In the east and north of the country down to -1 … -6 degrees during the day. In the central and western regions, -1 … +3 degrees are expected during the day. Locally, thermometers will show up to +5 degrees in the far west of the country. At night, the “minus” will be observed in all territories of Ukraine. The coldest part, down to -9 degrees, will be in the east and north of our country. In other regions, the expected minimum is -4 degrees (in southern and central Ukraine).
At the same time, rainfall is expected on Tuesday only in the west of the country. The rest of the territories are cloudy.

On Wednesday, December 23th, in western Ukraine it is expected to warm to a record +7 degrees, while in eastern Ukraine severe frosts will remain with marks down to -9 degrees at night. Rainfall will cover almost the entire country with the exception of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. Meteorologists predict snowfall in areas where thermometers will be below zero during the day. Otherwise, rain and snow are expected, which in the central and eastern regions can lead to freezing snow at night.

According to Gismeteo’s forecast, the worst frosts in the east of the country will be during from December 22 to 25 with markings down to -9 degrees. During the period from December 26 to 31 frosts above -4 degrees are not expected. But in western Ukraine the situation will be the opposite: for December 25, most “advantages” are expected, but already from 26 to 31 December Frosts down to -3 degrees are expected at night.
Previous forecasters said that a cold snap will hit Ukraine next week, and frosts will be very severe in some places.
