“We separated from Lucescu”

Former Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna, who won many trophies with Mircea Lucescu, commented on the Romanian specialist’s decision to coach Dynamo Kiev.

This is your decision. What he did for the miner, no one will ever take away. He did a lot, but now we part. He’s at the Dynamo, we have our club. Everyone will fight for a good result.

– Why did you lose the Super Bowl?

– I will always choose the championship instead of the Super Cup. The most important objective is the championship and advance to the group of the Champions League. With both Fonseca and Castro we lost the Super Bowl. In terms of trophies, the Super Cup is in third place for us. I congratulated the Dynamo on the victory after the game. They chose tactics that worked for them. We create many chances, we don’t score. We all liked our game. With a game like that, I don’t fear for the championship. In the game with Olympic, I saw Dynamo add. But in the game with Shakhtar, I didn’t see this. And add Desna, and Zarya. A very difficult championship. Physically challenging. This season will not be easy. I am pleased that the teams are growing. A championship like this will make us work harder and better. And this is good.
