Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin spoke about the club’s plans for the team for the near future:

At the same time, we still have a young Bondar, a young but experienced Matvienko. We believe in our boys. Anticipating possible comments, I want to say that sometimes a lot of potholes fly towards the centrals, but the games are lost by the whole team. There may be pure errors from the central defender, but any defender can make them. We believe that our boys will grow from game to game. Therefore, the question is closed.
As for the ninth number. We have Dentinho and Moraes. They come out today and they give results. They may have a recession at some point, but these are our seasoned players that the team looks forward to.
There are also Fernando, Sikan, Vyunnik. We believe in them. If today we go to the market to buy a foreigner, we will have to close the way for these guys. And this is the wrong strategy.
