The Russian Federation has allocated 4.7 billion rubles ($ 64.4 million) for the creation of new water supply facilities in occupied Crimea. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.

It should be noted that the allocated funds will be used for the construction of a water intake on the Belbek river with purification and engineering facilities, as well as the infrastructure for the transfer of water from the Kadykovsky quarry.

The construction work will be carried out by the Russian Defense Ministry.

“Once the facilities are up and running, they will become the property of Sevastopol,” the message reads.

It is noted that more than 870 million rubles ($ 11.3 million) will be allocated “for the overhaul of water pipes, the replacement of obsolete equipment and the development of additional wells.

The funds will come from the Russian government’s reserve fund.

We will recall, it was previously reported that due to problems with water in the Crimea, private wells will be bought by force. Furthermore, the so-called Crimean chief Sergei Aksenov proposed to involve the prosecutor’s office in case of Crimean resistance in this matter.

According to the official position of Ukraine, there is not enough water in Crimea for the development of military facilities, the population is fully equipped. The problem with the water supply on the peninsula has been observed several years after the annexation, when Kiev cut off the water supply to the northern Crimean canal.
