Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a citizen poll on local election day and named five issues. As found in the LB.ua issue, instructions for volunteers and survey coordinators have already appeared.
The organizers of the Ukraine survey, scheduled for October 25, have drawn up instructions for regional and regional coordinators, as well as volunteers who will participate in it. This was reported by the LB.ua edition with reference to sources on October 18.
According to the document available to the publication, the volunteer will ask questions of voters who leave the electoral college in local elections. The survey excludes any campaign and is carried out on a completely voluntary basis. The voter receives a questionnaire, fills it out and places it in a special box.
Each volunteer will wear a bib, marked with the logo and name of the survey. You are prohibited from entering the territory of the site.
The volunteer will be allowed four 15 minute breaks in 12 hours.
After polling stations work, volunteers independently calculate the results and enter the data into a Google spreadsheet.
Coordinators must organize the work of volunteers, provide them with an inventory and receive reports through a chatbot.
On October 13, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on local election day on October 25, Ukrainians will be asked to answer “five important questions.”
On October 14 and 15, he asked the first two questions:
- Is it necessary to introduce life imprisonment for corruption on an especially large scale?
- Do you support the creation of a free economic zone in Donbass?
On October 16, the head of state made the three remaining questions public:
- Should the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine be reduced to 300 people’s deputies?
- Do you support the legalization of medical cannabis to relieve pain in critically ill patients?
- Should Ukraine raise the question of the application of the security guarantees defined by the Budapest Memorandum at the international level?
The Central Electoral Commission reported that they are not preparing the survey. The president’s office stressed that the results of the survey will have no legal consequences.
