Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin will put pressure on Ukraine, increasing the intensity of hostilities in Donbas, but it is not yet ready for a full-scale offensive.
This opinion was expressed by the former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the military expert Vladislav Voloshin in a lightning interview with OBOZREVATEL. “Putin simply cannot pressure Ukraine by military means,” he said.
According to him, the breaking of the ceasefire in Donbass was necessary for Russia to put pressure on Ukraine not only on the issue of holding elections in occupied Donbass, but also for the political game in local elections in Ukraine.
At the same time, he is convinced that the Kremlin is not yet planning large-scale military operations against Ukraine, in particular, due to the need to respond to the situation in Belarus. The large concentration of troops near the borders of Ukraine as a result of the Caucasus-2020 and the Slavic Brotherhood-2020 exercises is a factor of psychological pressure, not a military one on the Ukrainian side, the expert is convinced.
