Former fugitive Internal Affairs Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko said he was ready to lead the terrorists in Donbass in the case of the merger of “L / DPR” into a “republic”.
A former official from the time of Viktor Yanukovych announced this on the air of the Russian propaganda channel Russia Today. In his words, supposedly everything depends on the “will of the people.”
“If this is the question and the people want to see me there as president. I have enough strength and experience. Yes, I am ready,” Zakharchenko said.
It also reacted positively to the “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories. In his opinion, the two “republics” should unite by eliminating “institutional holes” and “shadow schemes”.
“I propose to create an open fund for restoration and assistance to the Donbass, and let Russia, Ukraine, the participants of the Normandy format fill it with real money,” Zakharchenko said.
Note that Zakharchenko fled Ukraine in 2014 and later declared that he had received Russian citizenship.
