In Vinnitsa, quarantine restrictions are tightened

All places in coronavirus resuscitation are occupied in the city. The burden on the medical system has recently tripled.

The Vinnitsa city authorities are introducing a series of restrictions in the red zone due to the rapid increase in the incidence of COVID-19. This was announced on Friday, March 12, by the press service of the Vinnytsia City Council.

“Due to the rapid spread of the incidence of COVID-19 … quarantine restrictions of the red level are being introduced in Vinnitsa to prohibit any public events and the work of sports and cultural institutions,” the message reads.

Thus, the holding of mass cultural and entertainment events in the city will be prohibited, as well as the work of sports facilities will not be allowed.

The additional quarantine restrictions begin operating on Saturday, March 13.

Meanwhile, the mayor of the city, Sergey Morgunov, said in a briefing that all the intensive care beds for coronavirus patients are occupied in the hospitals of the city of Vinnitsa, the doctors are falling due to the increase in the load .

Morgunov noted that in January there were 509 hospital beds for COVID-19 patients, now 805, but this is no longer enough.

“As of March 12, 709 beds are occupied in city hospitals. 604 patients are connected to oxygen and 67 patients with CPAP (artificial pulmonary ventilation) are in serious condition. Today all intensive care beds are occupied,” Morgunov said . .

According to him, the Vinnytsia region has been on the verge of falling into the red quarantine zone for two weeks and the burden on the health system has tripled. Doctors speak of an increase in the aggressiveness of the virus, an increase in the number of hospitalizations in serious condition and mortality.

“Our doctors and medical staff are already falling apart. The third wave of COVID-19 started in mid-February and continues for almost a month,” Morgunov said.

He added that there are no forecasts, not even conservative, of weakening now.

Remember that at the end of last day, the Vinnytsia region is the leader in Ukraine in terms of the number of new coronavirus cases – 940.

Previously, the Ministry of Health reported that it was counting on a decrease in the growth of COVID-19. The decrease in the number of cases depends on several variables related to the virus itself, explained the Ministry of Health.
