As a result of the shooting in Vienna, seven people could have been killed, including a policeman, and four more could have been injured, Kurier reports.
The shooting took place on the night of November 2 near Schwedenplatz, where the synagogue and the Jewish center are located.
Despite requests from the police not to distribute videos or photos, images of the shooting between police officers and criminals appear online. According to media reports, the police are inspecting the center of the Austrian capital and checking cars for criminals.
The Austrian Interior Ministry said one of the criminals was arrested, writes Arab News.
Later, Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer confirmed the deaths of several people and called the incident a terrorist attack, reports ORF. Residents have been urged not to take to the streets; several terrorists are behind the attacks.
Updated at 23:30. Vienna police confirmed the death of one person and several injuries, including a police officer. A suspect was shot by the police. The terrorist attacks took place in six different locations.
It was previously reported that an unknown man attacked a synagogue in Vienna and blew up a suicide belt. Other criminals are in hiding, according to the Kronen Zeitung.
