A night of professional boxing took place in Las Vegas, during which the Ukrainian Victor Postol met with the American José Rodríguez. At stake was the WBC and WBO light welterweight world title.

From the first round, the American gained the advantage and increased his superiority in the course of the battle. The fight lasted the 12 rounds and the judges gave the victory to Rodríguez: 114-114, 115-113, 116-112. Thus, the American kept his two belts.
Postol spent his 34th fight in the professional ring, in which he achieved 31 wins (12 by knockout) and suffered 3 losses.
José Rodríguez, in turn, had 26 fights, in which he achieved 26 victories (17 by knockout).
