It is planned to sanction the person who provides false information in the declaration. The culprit, in particular, wants to be fined or sent to community service.

The Verkhovna Rada working group on the solution of the constitutional crisis has registered a bill on resuming responsibility for declaring false information and for failing to provide a statement by the subject of the statement, writes Ukrinform, referring to the Deputy Head of the Legal Policy Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Olga Sovgirya.

“The bill provides for the introduction of separate criminal liability for deliberate failure to submit a statement and for declaring inaccurate information with the appropriate differentiation of penalties based on the size of the difference between reliable and inaccurate information that must be declared” said the popular deputy.

He added that the severity of the punishment will depend on whether this difference exceeds three thousand living wages for people without disabilities. Criminal liability will begin if said difference exceeds 500 living wages.

According to the bill, if a person deliberately failed to provide a statement or declared false information, then in this case it is proposed that the culprit be fined or sent to community service. In this case, the perpetrator must be deprived of the right to hold certain positions or participate in certain activities for a maximum of three years.

“In other words, the possibility of imprisonment is excluded,” Sovgirya emphasized.

Likewise, the bill proposes to expand the range of positions that provide for the occupation of a position of responsibility or particularly responsible. Such a list, in particular, will include the posts of the first deputy director and deputy director of NABU, the head of NAPK and his deputies, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, his first deputy and deputy.

Let’s remember how many officials lie in the statement.
