“Today, October 26, the investigating judge of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to comply with the request to the SAP Prosecutor to choose a preventive measure for the fourth president of Ukraine, who has been hiding from the investigation since 2014. He is suspicious of having committed crimes under Part 5 of Art. 191, Part 3 of Art. 209, Part 5 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Reasons for refusal: violation of the rules for declaring a suspect in the international wanted list, “says the message.
In addition, it is reported that at the time of filing the request for the election of a precautionary measure, the investigating authorities did not resume the investigation in this criminal proceeding, as required by law.

Earlier, the Kiev Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Obolonsky District Court, which sentenced former fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych to 13 years in prison for high treason.
