The chairman of the parliamentary commission on the nation’s health, health care and health insurance, Mikhail Radutsky, named the categories of people who will be the first to be vaccinated against the coronavirus in Ukraine. He added that all the vaccines that the state will buy will be free.
He said it on the air of the “Right to Power” program.
According to him, 4 million Ukrainians will have the opportunity to get vaccinated for free as part of the global COVAX initiative.
“The first wave is the doctors, the military, this is the police. The doctors are mandatory. First, these are medical workers, these are the military, this is the police, this is the National Guard and the elderly at risk,” Radutsky said.
According to the Vice Minister of the Interior, Anton Gerashchenko, among the security forces, 25 thousand people fell ill with coronavirus, of which 78 were lethal.
Earlier, Mikhail Radutsky said that to break the chain of coronavirus disease in Ukraine, it is necessary to vaccinate between 18 and 19 million people. According to him, there is still no persistent immunity.
We recall, the government decided to extend the quarantine until the end of winter with greater restrictions in the period from January 8 to 24.
