U.S. Department of Commerce Releases List of Sanctioned Businesses
Ten Russian, three German and one Swiss organizations acted against the interests of the national security of the United States, Washington said.
The United States Department of Commerce has published a list of companies that have been subjected to restrictions due to the situation around Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was announced on Tuesday, March 2, by the TASS agency.
Recall that the United States imposed sanctions against 14 organizations “acting against the interests of national security and foreign policy of the United States” and seven high-ranking officials in Russia.
“Among the Russian organizations on the list, in addition to the 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense, there are companies Himmed, Femteko, Interlab, Labinvest, Analit prodakts, Intertek instruments, Pharmcontract, Rau Farm, Regionsnab“, – listed in the department.
In addition, the German companies ChimConnect Gmbh, Pharmcontract and Riol-Chemie, as well as the Swiss ChimConnect AG were included in the “black list” of the Ministry of Commerce.
As explained in the ministry, the aforementioned companies are involved in “Russian weapons of mass destruction programs and activities in the field of chemical weapons.”
Entering the sanctions list means the introduction of additional licensing requirements for the export, re-export and transfer of technology.
As reported, on the eve of the sanctions against Russia in the Alexei Navalny case they were introduced by the European Union and the United States. Moscow called it a “hostile anti-Russian attack” and asked “not to play with fire.”
