Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov’s real estate in the US seized
The office center was acquired by two former PrivatBank major shareholders, Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov, in 2008.
The US Department of Justice intends to seize an office building in Cleveland, Ohio, that belongs to Ukrainian businessmen Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov, however, according to the department, it was acquired with funds illegally withdrawn from PrivatBank. This was announced on Wednesday, December 30, by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
It should be noted that the 22-storey office center was acquired by two former major Privat shareholders and several others in 2008. At the same time, the funds for its purchase were obtained fraudulently.
The agency filed a lawsuit in federal court for the Southern District of Florida, the state in which the firms involved in the purchase / sale of said property are located.
Thus, this is the third Igor Kolomoisky building in the States, the confiscation of which the US authorities seek.
Recall that in August, the US Department of Justice submitted two civil complaints regarding the seizure of Kolomoisky’s commercial real estate, acquired with embezzled funds from PrivatBank, for consideration by the court.
