The House of Representatives of the United States Congress returned to vote on Monday, December 28, on the country’s defense budget project for fiscal year 2021, thus overcoming the veto of President Donald Trump. This was reported by the press service of the legislative body.

It should be noted that already today the congressmen will meet for the final adoption of the document, according to which $ 740 billion have been earmarked for defense for the next fiscal year (started on October 1).

We will recall that the aforementioned project provides for sanctions against Russia due to the Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream gas pipeline projects, in addition to providing Ukraine with $ 250 million in support and assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces.

As reported, on the eve of Trump signing a budget proposal for fiscal year 2021, which includes an economic stimulus package in relation to the pandemic.

At the same time, the head of state previously vetoed the US military budget, approved by the Senate and Congress, since, in his words, the document “does not include important national security provisions.”
