The colonel and the press secretary of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were injured as a result of the explosion of an RGD-5 grenade. The incident occurred in the area of ​​the village of Shumy in Donbass. It is assumed that the ammunition was installed in the form of a stretch.

This was reported by the headquarters of the Joint Forces operation on Tuesday, September 15.

“Today, September 15, around 11:40 in the area of ​​the village of Shumy, Donetsk region, as a result of the explosion of an RGD-5 type grenade, installed, probably in the form of a stretcher, two were injured military: Colonel A. Appolonov and a press secretary from one of the V. Zalevsky brigades. Both wounded were transferred to the hospital in the city of Toretskoye, their condition is stable and satisfactory, “says the message.

It is clarified that the military were in the area for the purpose of carrying out a standard verification of the situation. The investigation of the incident is ongoing.

“Based on the information we have at this time, there is no confirmation that this incident was not accidental,” added JFO headquarters.

Furthermore, all information was brought to the attention of the OSCE Special Oversight Mission in its entirety.
