Ukrainian defender on the left flank of Spanish “Lugo” Vasily Kravets recalled how he was accepted by club fans immediately after the Lviv “Carpathian” transition in 2017.
Vasily has a very good relationship with Lviv’s ultra-green-white. But when he moved to the Second Spanish club, it was very difficult.
In the first home game the ultras called me “Lugo”, who were outside the door. I turned around, and they all started sticking their middle fingers at me, the whole platform!
At first Vasily could not understand the reasons.
And then it turned out that this was because I liked Ukrainian fans on Instagram, the Carpathian ultras. And some of them had a swastika.
Lugo fans said I was the same: racist and I don’t like blacks. Because of this, our relationship did not work from the beginning.
Everything has changed thanks to the intervention of a teammate. Once another soccer player, “Lugo” posted a photo with Vasily.
Ultras told him not to, because I am a racist. He replied that Kravets was not a racist, but his friend. He said I’m not what they think of me. After that, our relationship improved.
Since then Vasily Kravets has become a Leganes de Examples player, and has now returned to Lugo as a rented player.
In Leganés, the relationship did not work at all. They were sick and I played. I didn’t play, but they still hurt.
