They steal money from bank cards. Ukrposhta warns of a new scam trap

Ukrainians started receiving emails with a request to deposit a small amount in a certain account.

Ukrposhta warns of a new plan to steal money. Scammers commit theft through emails on behalf of the company. Ukrposhta boss Igor Smelyanskiy announced this on Saturday December 5 on his Facebook page.

“Dear customers! Some of you have received an email from Ukrposhta, allegedly with a letter demanding to pay 2.15 tariffs on an international package. This is fraud! And not with the aim of charging 2.15, but with the aim of collecting numbers of credit cards for future cancellations, “he wrote.

Smelyansky cautioned that Ukrposhta does not send emails, furthermore, it does not store customers’ email addresses in the database.

“Under no circumstances do you click on the link and do not give your card number. We do our best to establish the source (certainly not Ukrposhta) to avoid losing customers,” he said.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry warned Ukrainians about a new kind of fraud in the Telegram messenger, when the attackers borrowed money from a person posing as their friend.

In addition, in Kiev, the work of call centers that deceived EU citizens was terminated. A criminal plan was in effect for three years. About a thousand operators attended.
