Ukravtodor initiates controls on the purchase of expensive cars in its regional divisions
The company canceled two tenders, in the Sumy and Dnepropetrovsk regions, and started inspections for similar purchases.
The State Highway Agency of Ukraine announced that it had canceled tenders for the purchase of premium cars from two oblast drivers and scheduled a review of similar purchases earlier. This was announced on Thursday night, November 19, by the Ukravtodor press service on Facebook.
It is observed that the pertinent verifications were initiated after the public outcry caused by the media publications about the purchase of expensive official cars by the highway services.
“Unreasonable expenditures of state funds are unacceptable. I insist that inexpensive cars of basic configuration are selected for official purposes. In the future, we will control this problem with the help of formal mechanisms; a separate order corresponding to the regions has already been sent. said the head of Ukravtodor Alexander Kubrakov.
The company said that the previously announced tender of the Automobile Highway Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region for the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 4.0 Dual VVT-i and the Automobile Highway Service in the Sumy region for the Volkswagen Touareg crossover passenger car have been canceled.
In addition, it is reported that controls have been initiated for similar purchases.
Earlier, Ukravtodor named the cost of one kilometer of the highway. On average, it has an average of 170.6 million UAH.
