Ukrainians last year “devoured” stocks

In the year of the quarantine, the savings of Ukrainian residents fell by 17 billion hryvnia. This is derived from the difference between money spent and money earned.

Savings of Ukrainians during 2020 decreased by 17 billion UAH. This is evidenced by preliminary data from the State Statistics Service.

So, according to preliminary data from the State Statistics Service, the income of the population in 2020 reached 3,972.4 billion UAH.

The main share in the income structure last year were wages, 45.9% (1,823 million UAH), profits and mixed income, another 17.9%. At the same time, a significant part corresponded to social benefits and other transfers received: 33.6% (only social assistance: 652.1 billion UAH, or 16.4% in the income structure).

At the same time, the expenses of the Ukrainians amounted to 3.989.4 billion UAH, while savings decreased by 17 billion UAH. Thus, expenses exceeded income by that amount.
