In Ukraine, since January 1, 2021, gas subscription rates have been increased in all regions. For some, the price has doubled. This is due to the increased cost of delivery and distribution of blue fuel, increased wages and the need to repair communications.
This is stated in the OBOZREVATEL material. Among the published rates, one of the most significant price increases – for Ternopolgaz customers – from 1.35 to 2.604 UAH per cubic meter.
The total volume of gas that was used from October 2019 to October 2020 is divided by 12 months. The resulting figure is multiplied by the rate. For example, if a Ternopolgaz customer spent 1,000 cubic meters during the specified period, they will have to pay monthly fees for 83.3 cubic meters. In 2020, this is UAH 112.4, and from January 1 – UAH 216.9.
Thanks to the introduction of monthly tariffs, Ukrainians have the right to change gas supplier. Therefore, regional gas must pay for the communication, transportation and distribution of blue fuel. But from whom to buy the gas itself, you can choose from dozens of offers. For example, on average, Naftogaz customers pay around UAH 2 more than customers associated with regional gas sales.
At the same time, it is impossible to do without a monthly fee. It existed before, but its size was included in the general blue fuel tariff. This means that those Ukrainians who spent the most gasoline actually paid for both themselves and those who use it, for example just for cooking.
