Ukrainians Can Pay 41% Less for Gas: How to Drastically Reduce Amounts on Bills

In Ukraine, any Ukrainian can replace a gas supplier. By law, dozens of different providers can operate in an apartment building, with different rates and conditions.

Read about how much you can save by replacing the supplier on OBOZREVATEL material.

How much can you save by switching providers?

In January, the minimum gas rate is 6.99 UAH and the maximum is 9.9 UAH. If you only use a gas stove and live in an apartment building, the difference will be negligible. If, for example, you heat your house with gas, the savings can amount to several hundred hryvnia a month.

For example, if 150 cubic meters per month are spent on heating, with the minimum rate it is 1,048 UAH, and with the maximum rate – 1,486 UAH. That is, when changing providers, in this case, it will be possible to save more than 400 UAH per month.

Who has the lowest rates:

  • “Gas AP” – 6.99 UAH per cubic meter;

  • Megawatt – 7.05 UAH per cubic meter;

  • Agrosynthesis trade – 7.08 UAH per cubic meter;

  • Energy resources of Ukraine – 7.11 UAH per cubic meter;

  • Askania Energy – 7.2 UAH per bucket;

  • Naftogaz: 7,224 UAH per cubic meter.

The difference in rates exceeds 41%. That is, to pay less, you only need to change providers.

How to change providers

In Ukraine, since August 1, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers has not dictated to Naftogaz at what price to sell gas. Each for himself: local suppliers (for most Ukrainians this is regional “gas sales”) he buys blue fuel at the market price and then sells it to ordinary Ukrainians.

NAK also entered the retail market: it created a special division that should attract ordinary Ukrainians to sign direct contracts.

If you find the best price or for some reason you do not want to continue collaborating with your supplier, you can change companies in a matter of days. You will receive the same gas, but another company will pay for it.

To stop customers, old suppliers often send debts retroactively (they recalculate the amount of blue fuel used taking into account the temperature coefficient, they say, depending on the outside temperature and where the meter is installed, the volume can change) .

You can literally switch providers “with one click”. To do this, you must complete an application on your company’s website.

  • Submit an application to a new provider in the office or online (attach copies of your passport, TIN, home ownership / use documents, or last payment to application);

  • receive confirmation of the transition, which will take place automatically within 3 to 21 days.

In this case, the new provider himself will inform the previous one about the consumer’s desire to make said transition. Therefore, the current provider cannot put pressure on the customer and create obstacles.

What is important to choose a provider? it is possible not only for residents of private houses, but also for apartments. After all, the provider concludes a deal not with condos, but with each specific consumer.… Yes, you and your neighbor may have different gas suppliers and consequently different prices.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, the deputies want to deprive Ukrainians, who have debts for public services, the right to drive a car, travel abroad, use a weapon and go hunting.
