Ukrainians brought in cars worth $ 4.2 billion a year

In just one year, more than half a million cars were imported into Ukraine, but imports still decreased compared to 2019.

In 2020, Ukraine imported 531.4 thousand units of motor vehicles worth more than $ 4.2 billion. This was reported by Ukravtoprom on Thursday, February 25.

In 2020, the largest share of imports was made up of passenger cars, of which 486.3 thousand were delivered, 11% less than in 2019. In total, in 2020, Ukraine imported passenger cars worth $ 3.5 billion , which is $ 182 million less than in 2019.

At the same time, Germany was the largest supplier of passenger cars in 2020: 99,772 passenger cars worth $ 548.1 million.

In addition, in 2020, the import of trucks and special vehicles decreased, to 43.5 thousand, or 16%. In total, in 2020, trucks and special vehicles worth $ 717.4 million were imported into Ukraine (in 2019 – $ 841.9 million). Germany became the largest supplier of this type of car, from where 9,589 cars were imported for 114 million dollars.

Finally, bus imports also decreased in 2020: 1.6 thousand buses were imported to Ukraine, 35% less than in 2019. In total, buses worth $ 64.1 million were delivered to Ukraine during the year .
