The infliction of bodily harm on a colleague by a Ukrainian military man is being investigated as theft and violation of legal relationships, the military prosecution said.

In the Donetsk region, a Ukrainian soldier from one of the military units was detained, who, according to the investigation, beat and burned his colleague. This was reported on November 27 by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine (OGPU).

“The military prosecutor’s office of the Donetsk garrison of the specialized prosecutor’s office in the military and defense sphere of the Joint Forces arrested a military man for violating the legal norms of relations between the military in the absence of subordinate relations, as well as for robbery ( part 2 of article 406, part 1 of article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) “, – says the message.

According to preliminary data, the soldier “beat the victim, doused him with flammable liquid, set him on fire, and also seized the money.”

“The soldier was transferred to the Central City Hospital in the city of Toretsk with a closed head injury, flame burns in the lower right limb,” explained the OGPU.

The department said they plan to announce suspicions to the detainee. The case is handled by the State Investigation Office.
