In Ukraine, a national treatment protocol has been approved and is constantly being improved according to world experience.

The head of the Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that Ukrainian doctors have learned to treat the coronavirus and that the national treatment protocol helped in this. Stepanov said this on Monday, August 31, in an interview with Ukraine 24 television channel.

“At the beginning of March, when COVID-19 arrived, there was no evidence-based medicine on the treatment processes, then we approved a national treatment protocol,” he said.

“This was not all. We did it all and we are constantly improving, depending on the world experience. This is new not only in Ukraine, but in the world,” added the minister.

Stepanov also said that the country has enough ventilators and hospital beds.

“Today, the number of devices in hospitals designed to treat COVID patients is about four thousand devices. This amount is sufficient. What is needed is that we are increasing the number of high oxygen beds. We have almost 36 thousand beds in the country. for the treatment of COVID-19, and more than 11 thousand of them have centralized oxygen or a concentrator, “he said.

The head of the Ministry of Health indicated that they plan to increase this number to 80% of the total beds.
