Shakhtar in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 lost against Rome again and stopped participating in the tournament.
Dynamo Kiev, in turn, lost twice to Villarreal and also withdrew from European competition.
Thus, according to the results of the current European Cup season, the Ukrainian Football Federation failed to enter the TOP-10 of the best in the UEFA coefficients ranking, occupying 12th place.
It was the spot in the top ten that allowed the country’s champion to get a direct ticket to the group stage of the Champions League.
Thus, the winner of the UPL of the 2021/22 season must break through to the group of the main European Cup tournament by qualifying.
