Ukraine lost 13% of agricultural production

Agricultural production in Ukraine in January-September 2020 compared with the same period last year fell by 13.1%. The decline has accelerated in the last month.

This is reported by the State Statistics Service.

According to the statistics department, agricultural companies reduced production by 14.3%, households by 6.2%.

At the same time, agricultural production decreased by 16.1% and livestock production by 2.4%.

Recall that the production of agricultural products in Ukraine in 2019 increased by 1.1%. According to the statistics department, in 2019 Ukraine harvested 75.08 million tons of cereals in an area of ​​15.28 million hectares, 7.2% more than in 2018 (70.06 million tons).

Note that Ukraine has set a record for grain exports. According to the results of the 2019/2020 marketing campaign, a record 57.2 million tons of cereals, pulses and flours were supplied to foreign markets. This is 6.8 million tons more than in the last marketing year, when exports amounted to 50.4 million tons.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, Ukraine’s Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has worsened the projected cereal production in 2020 from 72.1 million tons to 70 million tons.
