Ukraine will sign an agreement with the global COVAX mechanism to supply the COVID-19 vaccine before December 7, the supplies will be divided into several tranches. This was announced by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, on Thursday, November 19.
It should be noted that the first agreement, on the technical necessity of Ukraine, will be signed before November 27. And the signing of the terms of cooperation will take place before December 7.
“Ukraine is scheduled to receive the future coronavirus vaccine in several tranches. The volume of the first tranche of COVAX will amount to almost 1.2 million doses,” Stepanov said.
The priority of the first phase of vaccination is health workers.
At the initiative of COVAX, Ukraine will receive around 8 million doses for free, but will be able to buy more at a special price. This number is enough for only 4 million people.
At the same time, a course of vaccination against the coronavirus, consisting of two doses, for Ukrainians will cost about $ 14.
