The undersecretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Serhiy Krivonos, believes that the country will not be able to fight for Donbass and Crimea at the same time due to human and logistical factors.

Ukraine will not be able to conquer Crimea at the same time as Donbass. The undersecretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Sergei Krivonos said this on September 24 on the DOM television channel.

“We clearly understand that Ukraine cannot solve the problem by force at this stage, because there are problems. This is, first of all, the war in Donbass, and we will not be able to wage a war on two fronts, or even legally return our lands.” , – he said.

According to the undersecretary of the NSDC, Ukraine does not have enough material and technical potential for this, and the human factor also plays a role.

“It is, first of all, about human losses. Therefore, the number one task is to continue to actively cooperate with world leaders, raise the issue of increased sanctions against the Russian Federation and bring Russia with these sanctions to such a level that the question is whether Crimea will be returned or will be left without pants, “relatively speaking”, – explained Krivonos.

He believes that, in parallel, Ukraine should strengthen its defense capacity, which “will allow, if necessary, act by force.”

Russia annexed Crimea after an illegal referendum on March 16, 2014. Ukraine and most countries in the world do not recognize the peninsula’s accession to the Russian Federation.

In 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea, Russia launched an armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the Russian army and the Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, on the other. The Russian Federation does not officially recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
