The government of Ukraine has decided to impose sanctions against Nicaragua. Earlier, the country’s government appointed the so-called “honorary consul” in the Russian-occupied Crimea.
This was announced by deputy Alexey Goncharenko on Telegram after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Ukraine will impose sanctions against Nicaragua due to the appointment of an honorary consul in occupied Crimea,” he wrote.
Recall, it was previously reported that the Nicaraguan government has officially appointed an “honorary consul” in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The obnoxious Oleg Belaventsev became the “Consul”. In 2019, the Kiev City Svyatoshinsky District Court sentenced him in absentia to 13 years in prison for invading the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a protest note to the Russian Federation over President Vladimir Putin’s visit to occupied Crimea.
In addition, recently, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced the readiness of the European Union to join the platform for the evacuation of Crimea.
Ukraine also plans to invite Russia to the platform for the unemployment of Crimea, but the Foreign Ministry doubts that Moscow will join this initiative.
