Ukraine is interested in attracting Turkish companies to Big Construction
Zelensky announced Ukraine’s interest in attracting Turkish companies to the implementation of the infrastructure project.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his interest in involving Turkish companies in the Big Construction program. He stated this at a press conference after talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, October 16.
“We already have Turkish companies like Onur and Ozaltin operating successfully. And given the scale of our program called Big Construction, we are striving to expand the range of these projects and the range of these companies,” Zelensky said.
Erdogan also pointed to the mutual desire to develop economic relations between the countries and increase trade. He recalled that during his visit to Ukraine, a goal was outlined to reach the level of $ 10 billion in bilateral trade.
“Mr. Zelensky and I are like-minded people, we need to finalize the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement as soon as possible to achieve our goal,” said the Turkish president.
Remember that earlier Zelensky and Erdogan made a joint statement. Turkey has come out in support of Ukraine’s entry into NATO. In addition, negotiations on free trade between Turkey and Ukraine are underway.
Later it became known that Kiev and Istanbul decided to cooperate in the defense industry. The defense ministers of both countries signed a series of documents on cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey.
