In Ukraine, another anti-registration was recorded for the number of new COVID-19 infection cases per day. This is demonstrated by the data published on the website of the system for monitoring the spread of the coronavirus epidemic of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
The laboratory confirmed 5,397 new cases of infection. The previous record was set on October 7, when 4,753 infected residents were identified.
During the day 93 patients with coronavirus infection died in the country. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic has risen to 4,690. 2,263 patients are also reported to have recovered in the last day.
The total number of infected people in Ukraine was 244 734 people, of which 108 233 were recovered. Now in the country, COVID-19 is carrying 131,811 people.
On September 24, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced the start of the second wave of spread of the coronavirus in the country. Ukrainian Health Minister Maxim Stepanov promised to initiate a return to a stricter quarantine if the situation with the spread of the coronavirus in the country continues to worsen. At the same time, the government has banned all foreign citizens from entering the country since August 28.
NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has warned Ukrainians that if they do not comply with quarantine rules, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country will reach 360,000 by October 25.
