During the past day, more than 700 thousand new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the world, of which almost 235 thousand are in Europe, according to the statistical portal Worldometers.

As of Saturday morning, December 19, 716,922 new infections were found in the world, including 234,696 in Europe.

In the anti-rating of the increase of the coronavirus among European states, Ukraine ranks fifth, after Germany, Great Britain, Italy and France.

Globally, Ukraine is ranked 11th in terms of the number of new infections. The US retains the leadership on the corresponding list.

According to the latest data, more than 76 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the world, of which 53.3 million ended in recovery and 1.68 million – in the death of patients.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Health said that they expected a decrease in the coronavirus epidemic in the country in April 2021 thanks to vaccination and herd immunity.
