The former head of the SBU Research Department, General Vasily Vovk, predicted the loss of Donbass in Ukraine in two months, writes RIA Novosti.
“If we officially reject the Minsk agreements, you can be sure that we are losing, first of all, in a month or two all the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” Vovk said. He is sure that Russia will “do everything wonderfully” and without “little green men.” It turns out that residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions did everything themselves, Vovk added.
Earlier, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy Andriy Yermak, admitted that the Minsk agreements are almost impossible to implement in the version in which they were signed. At the same time, he promised that Kiev will try to comply with all the principles set out in these agreements.
The Minsk agreements were signed on February 12, 2015. They involve granting Donbass special status as part of Ukraine, the withdrawal of all armed units from its territory, and the holding of local elections. All parties to the conflict express the lack of progress in its implementation.
